Information on The Sweet Smell of Success |

Just one year ago, Chicago was the 'launching
pad' for the current blockbuster hit on Broadway, The Producers.
This month, another classic movie that's been reincarnated as a
musical is debuting right here! The man lending star power to "The
Sweet Smell of Success" is none other than John Lithgow. The team
responsible for bringing this film noir classic to the stage is
made up of Composer Marvin Hamlisch(A Chorus Line), Lyricist Craig
Carnelia(Working), Writer John Guare(Six Degrees of Separation),
Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon(NYC ballet) and Director Nicholas
Hytner(Miss Saigon). Janet sat down and talked with a few of these
elite team members.. and John Lithgow.
The musical runs at the Shubert Theatre until
January 27th. After this Chicago-run, "The Sweet Smell of Success"
opens at New York City's Martin Beck Theatre (302 W. 45th St.) on
March 14th.

This teen comedy features the talents of
not one or two... but -three- children of prominent Hollywood celebrities.
Tom Hanks' son, Colin stars in the film. He plays Shaun Brumder,
an aspiring young writer, well on his way to a Stanford education,
until a mix-up threatens to derail his plans. His loyal girlfriend,
helping sort out the mistake, is played by Schuyler Fisk, the daughter
of Sissy Spacek. Directing the film is Jake asdan, the son of Writer,
Producer, Director Lawrence Kasdan. Janet chatted with the young
Hanks about his first major role -and- life with his famous father.
Also featured in "Orange County" is an impressive list of some of
today's biggest comic talent... like John Lithgow, Katherine O'Hara,
Chevy Chase, Garry Marshall, Lily Tomlin.. even Chicago's own Harold
Ramis.

Information on Bear Grylls: "The Kid Who Climbed Everest" |

Janet Davies interviewed one of the youngest
men ever to climb Mount Everest, Bear Grylls, of the U. K.. Making
his fete all the more remarkable is the fact that only two years
prior to his climb, he had broken has back in 3 places after falling
17-thousand feet when his parachute failed in a military exercise
with the British SAS, to which he was assigned at the time. Bear
Grylls has written a book about his experiences called "The Kid
Who Climbed Everest."
