Information on Chicago's Pedway System |
|
Covering 40 blocks of downtown and linking stores, office buildings,
even train stations, the Pedway is the city's 'secret weapon' against
inclement weather! This underground tunnel system was built over
a 40-year period and helps walkers traverse the city without fighting
traffic...or rain and snow. But even though it's been around for
decades, many savvy Chicagoans still don't know about it so, we
went on a walking tour of the Pedway and stopped off at some well-known
and some not so well-known destinations found along the underground
pathway! For more information about the Pedway: www.cityofchicago.org.
