Information on Dog Shows |
Every year at the end February, thousands of canines from all across
the country gather at McCormick Place for one of the fiercest competitions
in town-the International Kennel Club of Chicago's Cluster of Dog
Shows! The pooches at this show are judged by breed. Then, the winner
of each breed competes in one of seven categories: sporting, hound,
terrier, working, toy, non-sporting, and herding. Finally, the winner
of each group vies for the coveted title-"best in show!" Over one-hundred-thousand
spectators visit this show annually to check out the dogs, and the
over-the-top merchandise! Michelle Alegria got swept away in all the
fun!

Information on Barn Dancing |
If
you are a fan of folk music looking to scuff up your dance shoes,
then you need to check out the Chicago Barn Dance Company. On Mondays,
they host barn dances at the Bethany United Church of Christ. For
a small admission fee, you too can enjoy 3 hours of good old-fashioned
fun. The lively fiddle music and line dance formations make this dance
