If you're looking for that chic, sophisticated, old Hollywood look, LuLu's at the Belle Kay is the place for you.

"My vision is not looking like you've come out of a film noir, but, to be able to mix vintage back to modern, which I think is a wonderful way to wear it," said Laurie Demma-Davis, owner.

Laurie, a retired personal shopper from Marshall Field's, recently opened a beautiful and elegant vintage boutique, and travels all around the country to bring hard-to-find fashions to her clients.

"One of my favorite things that's in the store is a fantastic Malcolm Starr piece from the 70's which is a very elaborate gold lamee, encrusted with stones, I mean the workmanship is just amazing and it's palazzo, so it's very, very interesting," said Demma-Davis.

You can find beautiful vintage dresses at LuLu's, like a vintage Valentino from the late 60's with hand sewn beading! Nowadays, it's virtually impossible to find a dress like this with such intricate workmanship in a department store.

"A lot of people will come in here and just even if they're not going to wear vintage, or not do, it's not part of their lifestyle they love to just look at the fabrics, the quality, how it's made, how it's finished, these beautiful silk linings. A lot of these things you could wear inside out," said Demma-Davis.

LuLu's offers more than just clothing. They have purses that are simply to die for and extraordinary hats! And, if you're a shoe gal, you won't find more unique shoes anywhere else. But, the heart of the collection, both in terms of selection and Laurie's passion, is the jewelry.

"I always invite women that are jewelry collectors, a lot of them have inherited from their grandparents and don't know about what they have…and they bring in their jewelry and I talk to them about their jewelry, what they have, who the designers are the history of the designer…this really is my passion is the jewelry."

Although these fashions are fabulous, the prices are affordable.

"You can buy a wonderful little vintage swing skirt for $68 dollars up in to the thousands for a vintage Valentino, so it's all over the board, but I would say the average dress is 200 and under," said Demma-Davis.

Named after Laurie's beloved poodle, Lulu's is also a pet friendly store.

"We love little doggies, I have a wonderful back yard and some of my clients bring their dogs, I have a wonderful little dog bed that has been made to match the décor of the store, yeah, we love dogs," said Demma-Davis. But why did Laurie name the vintage store LuLu's at the Belle Kay?

"This was a dress shop in the 1950's and this is where the women came from this neighborhood to buy their dresses and it was called the Belle Kay dress shop. It's back to what it originally was, being a very elegant little dress shop for people in this neighborhood," said Demma-Davis.
