Check
out Chicago's flip side and see what to do after midnight. The 190
North staff recently suffered from a bad case of insomnia. So we decided
to check out this city's after hours scene. Believe it or not, while
most of us sleep, there is a whole world out there--wide-awake. |

Waveland Bowl
Chicagoans have been knocking down pins at this longtime favorite
since 1959 and Doug Banks has joined the bandwagon. The 24-hour
bowling alley caters to everyone from college kids to businessmen.
They see the whole gamut. Well you can imagine, because they never
close!
Waveland has been open more than 350,000 consecutive hours since
it's grand opening. They offer much more than just "regular" bowling
with cosmic bowling and bumper bowling for kids. And don't expect
to listen to Frank Sinatra crooning, "My Kind of Town." This place
plays all the latest hits and music videos for your listening and

Michelle Alegria goes to a late-night "culinary brain-storming"
session with Trio Executive Chef Grant Achatz and his staff.
After the famed Evanston four-star restaurant closes for the evening,
the group works out ideas for new dishes. The extra work in the
kitchen has paid off as Achatz, 29, who was recently honored by
the James Beard Foundation with the Gallo of Sonoma Rising Star
Chef of the Year award.
Michelle also visits Fire Engine Company 98 stationed in
the shadow of the landmark Water Tower. She stays on watch with
the firefighters who have to be ready throughout the night to answer
a call.
