Information on Working Bikes Cooperative |
The Working Bikes Cooperative on Western Avenue is a bike lover's
heaven-gears, wheels, chains, grease-this is the spot. Here they accept
donated bikes from all over the city and suburbs-in any condition
and any age! They repair them and sell them back to the public for
cheap-usually under $100. Lou Canellis donates his old Trek Mountain
bike to find out it will actually be donated with hundreds of others
to folks who really need them in Africa or Central America. In fact,
the money that Working Bikes raises from the bikes they sell locally
goes to pay for the shipments overseas!
