In 1934, after the death of her husband, Mrs. J. Ogden Armour commissioned David Adler to design he home which was to be built on several parcels of land she assembled on Green bay Road. Adler and his sister, Frances Elkins, worked in close collaboration with Mr. Armour on the design of the 21 room home, which she named Suffield House after her hometown of Suffield, Connecticut. The understated Georgian Revival today stands as one of the most prominent and admired of Lake Forest grand estates—and it’s now for sale!
