If you're looking to escape and don't feel like being hassled with long lines and pricey fares, then look to Indiana Dunes where fun us just an hour away. The waterparks, beaches, trails and even airplane rides are some great options if you are looking for fun in the sun. At the Indiana Aviation Museum, you can see artifacts from several wars and enjoy a ride in one of their prized warbirds. For those looking to cool off this summer, Splash Down Dunes waterpark offers several slides and pools for all ages. You can even pack a lunch or have a family picnic on their site at no additional charge.
In this town, there's one favored place to go for great ribs - Wagner's Ribs. At this 21 and over venue, a plate of baby back ribs is the thing to order if your a connoisseur of great ribs. Their secret sauce is one reason why locals and tourists can't stop eating the finger lickin good food.
If you're a fan of the outdoors, try hiking to the highest point of. Mt.Baldy, one of Indiana's national parks. There, you can also enjoy great beaches and lots of sand. For less than a half tank of gas, this hidden treasure is a great last minute getaway.

Information on Three Oaks |
Three Oaks, Michigan makes up only one square mile but it's certainly big on hospitality. This quaint village offers some of the most unique shops, boutiques, museum artifacts, and eateries in Harbor Country. One of the highlights is Drier's Butcher Shop. The building was made in 1851 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Four generations of the Drier family have been running the shop since 1875, just after the Civil War.
The real bonus of visiting Three Oaks is that you can park your vehicle and walk to each of the venues in town. It's only about a 90-minute drive from Chicago and has become a popular destination place in Michigan's Harbor Country.
