Dells Fun On Water (July 24, 2005)
Noah's Arc is the granddaddy of water parks. It is the largest waterpark in the country. You're guaranteed to have a screaming good time.

"Noah's Arc is truly America's largest water park. We're at 70 acres and growing. We have two wave pools, two lazy rivers, 40 waterslides, four kiddie play areas, bumper boats, miniature golf, all kinds of things. There truly is something for everybody here," said Tim Gantz, Noah's Arc president and co-owner.

The newest ride at Noah's Arc is the Black Anaconda and it is also America's longest watercoaster.

"It is a quarter mile long and what you do is you go down like a normal waterslide, but you shoot back up not once, not twice, but 6 different times throughout the ride," said Gantz.

"It was awesome fun," said one rider.

The Great Wolf Lodge has one of the first indoor water parks in the country and the main attraction is Treehouse Island.

"We're a family resort, we have about 75,000 square foot of indoor waterspace, waterpark space, with about 20,000 square feet on the exterior. When the property's sold out they'll be 1500 people on the property that are comfortable in the environment and enjoying all of the amenities and activities," said Tim Black, Great Wolf Lodge G.M.

The Howlin' Tornado is the newest ride at the Great Wolf Lodge and there is only one way to describe this ride. It's as if you're being flushed down a huge toilet!

While the Great Wolf Lodge may have one of the first indoor waterparks, but here at Kalahari, they have America's largest!

"It is 125,000 feet. The Kalahari is the second largest desert in the world and we're the largest indoor waterpark in the country, so kind of unique differences," said Todd Nelson, Kalahari owner.

Surfing may not be the first thing you think about when you think of Wisconsin Dells, but our friends at Kalahari want you to think again. That is why they have brought in the Flowrider.

"The Flowrider is an indoor surfing machine, which is actually pretty cool to be surfing in Wisconsin in the dead of winter, but what it does it's like falling on a trampoline, but it has sheet flow technology, which fires 30,000 gallons of water a minute uphill and you actually surf on it on a surf board, just like you're in the ocean and what people really love about it, is every single time you ride it, you actually get better. It's the coolest waterride in the world," said Nelson.

Another way to have fun with water in the Dells is by taking a jet boat cruise!

"I would describe it as a rollercoaster on water, you get soaked and it's just fast paced," said Tim Schuette, Dells Jet Boat Driver.

These boats cruise over sandbars as shallow as one foot, and are famous for their power stops, slides and spinouts!

"It's a narrative tour about halfway through and we do talk about a lot of the Wisconsin history and the rock formations along the river and we speed things up in the second half and give people a real good faced-paced ride before they get back," said Schuette.

You should keep your swimsuit on because you will get wet on this ride.
