| This
week we jump out of our studios and climb aboard the Spirit of Chicago
on Lake Michigan to bring you all stories about our Lake Michigan.
Did you know it's the largest body of fresh water in the U-S and
the 6th largest in the world?!! And adding to the beauty is Chicago's
Tall Ships 2003 festival.

more information on the Spirit of Chicago visit www.spiritofchicago.com.
Tall
Ships:
About 20 of these amazing vessels are docked on the lakefront and
the Chicago River. Michelle Alegria got to climb aboard a few of them
and see what goes into sailing the high seas. For more information:

Sailing:
Now, maybe seeing these tall ships has inspired you to do more than
just watch from the dock. Well, you can actually learn how to sail
your own boat-Janet Davies got a lesson with the Chicago Sailing Club.

Boat Living:
Lou makes a neighborly call on two of Chicago's 'lake-livers' and
lovers, Ted and Kristy Mau. From April to October, Ted and Kristy
make their home on Chicago's lakefront, but unlike other lakefront
residents, they reside on the east side of Lake Shore Drive. Ted and
Kristy are living the good life on a boat and even though it's only
for a few minutes, we think you'll enjoy sharing it with them. There
are 9+ harbors in the Chicagoland area, so if this is a lifestyle
for you, just rev up your engine or set your sail and give the Chicago
park district a call to reserve your mooring, slip or stardock. For

Scuba Diving on Lake Michigan
It's easily known for its beaches and fabulous boating, but did you know Scuba divers have been heading into the depths of Lake Michigan for 50 years now?? With at least 30 known shipwrecks resting on the lake's bottom, there's plenty to see down there. We headed out with a charter boat that's been in the 'dive business' for 4 years now. The 'main attraction' on the dive that day... was actually the old ferry boat, Straights of Mackinac, purposely sunk, just for divers.
