The "Rock Bottom Remainders," featuring Mitch Albom, Dave Barry, Stephen King, Ridley Pearson, Amy Tan and some really fine ringers will play the Park West Wednesday October 31 at 8:30 pm.

Tickets are $75 and benefit Chicago Scores, a literacy and after school program for disadvantaged kids. A special reception at 7:00 pm, $250 per, allows fans to meet the authors up close and personal. Tickets are available online or by phone.

Lou Canellis goes to Barrington to investigate sweat! That's right, he's at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute--there really is such a place--with Nascar driver Matt Kenseth. The scientists here do various tests that help athletes better understand how they can fuel themselves so they not only can perform better, but just feel better when training or competing.
