EXTRA Information on Chicago's "Cows on Parade"
The herds have moved on.  The Cows on Parade (TM) summer exhibition has ended, leaving behind wonderful memories of the celebrated bovines we won't soon forget.  The exhibition was also a tremendously successful tourism promotion for our city, producing an economic impact estimated at $200 million.  More than a million visitors flocked to Chicago to see the cows this summer.

Nearly 320 art cows were displayed in the exhibition.  Of these, more that half will be sold through charity auctions.  The balance will be taken home by their patrons for private display and few will remain on public display, although on private property such as lobbies and plazas.

Catching the Cows before their departure onto new land, Bill Leff visits the Chicago Theatre.  The theatre was the final viewing place for cow enthusiasts before the final bidding and charity explosion took place on November 9.
