Most
of us at some point wanted to be like Inspector Clussseu, Maxwell
Smart or James Bond, and at Spy Source in Des Plaines they can make
that happen. At Spy Source, the largest spy store in the Midwest,
you can find a camera disguised as a pack of cigarettes, night vision
goggles, a bug detector inside a pen.

John Frycek, a 20-year veteran in the security and private investigation
field, opened this shop four years ago.
"Spy Source is what you call your one-stop-shop for security and
counter-measure safety. So, we sell a lot of undercover cameras,
we sell personal protection defensive items, counter-measures items.
We're the source where you have to come to," said John Frycek, Spy
Source Director of Operations.
Although the detectives at Spy Source also offer private investigations,
who wouldn't want to try their hand at being a secret agent?
"Well, one of the most popular ones is the RFX Pro-Zapper. And
what this can do, is it can find out if there's an illegal eves-dropping
device in a room," said Frycek. "This is what they call the spy
finder and this is de-militized type of technology that five years
ago primarily the military had, but what this does is it has proprietary
LED flashes and you can spot an illegal camera a covert-pinhole
camera anywhere up to 40 feet away."
You can even pick up a tie at Spy Source. Of course, this tie
has a unique feature.
"If you have a formal situation that you have to go into, you
can go ahead and put on this tie and yes, there is a wireless covert
camera built inside the know of the tie," said Frycek.
Camera can be installed in anything -- even a teddy bear.
"Yes indeed, recordable cameras can be incorporated in to any
type of device, stuffed animal, can-openers, books, smoke detectors
even sprinkler heads," said Frycek.
Spy Source has everything from tracking devices to voice transformers.
