Information on 50th Anniversary McDonald's |
50 years ago, Ray Kroc opened up the very first McDonald's restaurant
in Des Plaines…becoming a pioneer in the fast-food business. To celebrate
the big anniversary, the restaurant chain opened up a mega-sized 'retro
replacement' for the old Rock 'n' Roll McDonald's on April 15th, 2005.
It's a modern replica of that very first restaurant…boasting 2 floors,
seating for 300, including edgy living room areas, Wi-Fi access, rooftop
garden, double-lane drive-thru, even a 2nd floor dessert and coffee
bar! Doug got a first-hand look from the McDonald's architect who
dreamed up the new dining spot.
