Glenn and Fennville, Michigan
First up on our visit to Glenn, we headed to a local spot where many go for breakfast. History has it that back in 1936, there was a blizzard that stranded motorists and the only thing available to eat was pancakes hence the nickname "Pancake Town." One thing you will notice is this town is filled with character and bits of history like the only remaining one room schoolhouse in the state.
Like many small towns, Glenn has plenty of mom and pop owned places like the Glenn Store for beverages and the hardware store for everything else. Along the main road in downtown you can buy a gift for that special person at the artisan and craft shop "At Last." And if you're looking for accommodations for you and your entire crew, the Glenn Manor may be the perfect place for you. The Pancake Town is also home to several beaches that will simply take your breath away. Just next door to Glenn, is Fennville, Michigan, another quaint town with a lot of charm and an orchard that leaves nothing to the imagination. Fennville even has a bed & breakfast on main street known as the Kingsley House. For a dinner that is made with all locally sourced foods - you must visit "Salt of the Earth."
