the Beluga Experience

The graceful Belugas have long been some of the stars of the Shedd Aquarium's daily show in the Oceanarium amphitheater. Now, thanks to a unique new experience, visitors are getting closer than ever before to the little white whales! Several times a week, the Aquarium offers their Beluga Encounter. Participants first take an introductory class, to prepare for their half-hour session in the water with a beluga and a trainer. To take part, you must be at least 10 years old and 5 feet tall. The rate is $250 for non-members and $225 for members.
