The Pickwick Theatre built in the 1920s is Park Ridge’s claim to fame. Boasting a whopping 1400 seat auditorium it is the largest in the state of Illinois. Back in its heyday many vaudeville acts performed on stage, but today it serves as a movie theatre as well as a stage for many live theatrical productions. The building, located in Uptown Park Ridge, has most of its original artwork and is a sight for many to see with its high ceilings and captivating murals. In 1975, the Pickwick Theatre was placed on the National Register of historic landmarks.
